PURPOSE: To Create a Complete Picture of the Natural World for Christians

Few places demonstrate the grandeur of nature, God's creation, better than Yosemite National Park in California.
There is a lot of confusion about various aspects of the Christian’s attitude toward nature. Of course, the Bible has the answers, but many people haven’t even thought about it. What does the Bible say about natural history? Is the earth really 4.5 billion years old? Do organisms change from one kind to another? Once the foundation has been set for a good Christian model of natural history. The possibilities are exciting and diverse. On this site, the fundamentals (supernatural creation of everything by the God of the Bible in six literal days about 6000 years ago) are taken for granted most of the time. I think its time to explore exactly what a timeline of earth history would look like from a Christian perspective. Ultimately, I hope to create an accurate picture of how life diversified over time and how the earth changed.
Besides natural history, there is a lot of controversy over environmental issues. Conservation is a key part of being a good steward of God’s creation, but how should we respond to the energy in our society to stop polluting, stop logging, stop drilling, stop damming, and many more calls to correct our corrupted world. Of course, the primary cause of all worldly ills is sin, but should Christians be backing away from these extreme attitudes? On this site, I hope to illustrate how Christians should really be the most adamant and dedicated of conservationists.
God loves all his creatures, even the ones that seem insignificant (such as sparrows) and He wants us to mimic his love for all creation. My goal is to eliminate the western way of thinking that has little regard for the preciousness of all life; to educate Christians in particular of the value of such things as spiders and snakes and to demolish their religious predisposition against such creatures. We need to understand that the creation is our responsibility to care for by the Genesis mandate, and that we need to manage our natural resources responsibly with respect. Wastefulness and cruelty are unacceptable in light of God’s intentions for the world. Ultimately, I want to tell the world about God’s salvation and show them a life by faith that has a great love, not only for created things, but also for fellow men. The sanctity of life is undermined in today’s cultures and needs to be reinstated. I hope that my passion and enthusiasm for the natural world and the Creator will spur others on to a higher standard of love for life.
